Britain’s Clean Energy Superpower Moment, and Cornwall is Leading the Charge.
Last week, our very own Simon Ellison had the honour of joining a roundtable with Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, where she reaffirmed the government’s ambition to make the UK a Clean Energy Superpower. Simon was able to speak directly with the Chancellor about the transformational potential of deep geothermal energy and zero-carbon lithium production — and how the UK can lead the world in delivering both, starting right here in Cornwall.
At Geothermal Engineering Ltd we’re proud to be delivering exactly that – with the UK’s first deep geothermal power plant and Europe’s most environmentally responsible lithium carbonate production, right here in Cornwall.
– 24/7 renewable baseload power
– Critical minerals for batteries and energy storage
– Clean tech jobs and investment in levelling-up regions
– British innovation, backed by private and public capital
We’re proving that the UK doesn’t need to choose between net zero and growth. We can – and must – do both.
In October we’ll be officially launching the United Downs Power Plant – a national milestone for geothermal energy and sustainable lithium. We’d be honoured to welcome government, industry, and investors to see it in action.
Let’s make the UK’s energy future local, secure, and green.
Many thanks to Jayne Kirkham, Perran Moon and Kensa for facilitating such an incredible opportunity.
