Progress continues at our Lithium Demonstration Plant as we expand our infrastructure and increase our testing capabilities. A significant milestone was reached last week with the delivery and installation of three new brine storage tanks, marking another step forward in the development of our sustainable lithium extraction process.
The new tanks will be used to collect geothermal brines after they have passed through our geothermal power plant. By providing additional storage capacity, they will support the next stage of testing and help facilitate ongoing research and optimisation of the lithium extraction process.
As the Demonstration Plant continues to evolve, each addition to the site plays an important role in advancing our understanding of how geothermal resources can contribute to the production of critical minerals. The project is helping to demonstrate how renewable geothermal energy can be combined with sustainable lithium production, creating a low-carbon pathway for supplying materials essential to the UK’s growing battery sector.
The arrival of the new tanks represents another tangible step towards proving the commercial and environmental potential of geothermal lithium extraction.
